The Northbridge Education Foundation invites the community to a fun day with your family and friends at Whitin Park listening to great music and helping a worthy cause.

Blackstone Valley Celtic Festival

hosted by the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce and Indian Ranch Performance Center

July 28, 10:00 am to 8:00 pm

Blackstone Valley Celtic FestivalThe day long festival will feature music, dance, children's entertainment, food, and a Celtic merchant's village. The festival will be emceed by comedian George Casey, and include the Tulach Ard Pipe Band, Nan Tom Teaimin, Robbie O'Connell, Charlie Zahm, the Worcester Kiltie Pipe Band, Mary McInerney's Irish Step Dancers, Paddy Keenan, Celtic Springand many more, including Celtic Spring, straight from the finals of NBC's, "America's Got Talent" program. 5th Annual Chilifest  

Wachusett Mountain, Princeton

5th Annual ChilifestCome enjoy a day on the mountain and taste some delicious chili at the 5th Annual Chilifest, presented by Hormel Chili and sponsored by Polar Beverages and the International Chili Society, at Wachusett Mountain in Princeton July 28 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. There will be contests, cook-offs, music, and of course plenty of chili! Tickets are available online or at the door. Don't forget to bring your appetite with you! Vista Jubilee Sunset Dinner Cruise

Vista JubileeCruise the Pawtuxet River and Narragansett Bay aboard the Vista Jubilee July 27 from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The perfect  treat for a summer night!  Proceeds from the cruise will benefit the operations of the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center in Pawtucket. Jr. Naturalist Programs

River Bend Farm

Fridays 

 

River Bend FarmRiver Bend Farm in Uxbridge hosts a weekly program, every Friday from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm for kids ages 6 to 10, called the Junior Naturalists Program. Through stories, arts and crafts, and exploration, kids will discover all kinds of neat things at the Farm. The adventure changes each week - this week's theme is the WETLANDS. Please be prepared to be outside. The programs are free and meet at the River Bend Farm Visitors Center. For more information contact 508-278-7604.

Blackstone Valley Tech Named National Pacesetter School

 

Blackstone Valley TechBlackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School has been named by the national High Schools That Work network as a Pacesetter School for 2007 to 2010, only one of 20 across the country. Valley Tech was awarded this honor based on high levels of achievement by the students, the strength of its curriculum and instruction, and school leaders and High Schools That Workstaff continually working to improve. The High Schools That Work Initiative works to bring together all levels of government with school leaders, teachers, students, parents and the community in partnership to equip the students with the skills they will need to pursue their dreams. CONGRATULATIONS!
